In recognition of his remarkable service to support diversity, equity and inclusion at UC Davis, the UC Davis Cal Aggie Alumni Association has named Neptaly “Taty” Aguilera ’73 the 2024 Aggie Service award winner.
Sergio Aguilar-Gaxiola, founding director of UC Davis Center for Reducing Health Disparities, was recently named a Top 20 Latino Change Maker by The Sacramento Bee.
A record high of 115,349 students applied to the University of California, Davis, for undergraduate studies in fall 2024. Among those applicants, there was even higher growth in applications from groups historically underrepresented in higher education, as well as students seeking to transfer from California Community Colleges.

Congratulations to Cindy Rubio González, 2014-15 CAMPOS scholar and associate professor in the department of computer science in the UC Davis College of Engineering, for being one of only nine faculty to be named a 2024 Chancellor's Fellows — a title given to early career academics doing exemplary work.
The Mondavi Center hosted Miller-Idriss on Feb. 5. She is an expert on identifying and combating extremism worldwide, and her book, Hate in the Homeland: The New Global Far Right, was the 2023-24 selection for the UC Davis Campus Community Book Project.
UC Davis reached new levels of prestige and impact in 2023, including being named No. 6 among the nation’s top public universities and achieving some significant achievements in regards to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Professor Maxine Craig, Ph.D. was recently appointed as new faculty director of the Center for the Advancement of Multicultural Perspectives on Social Science, Arts, and Humanities (CAMPSSAH). Craig is a professor in the sociology department and since 2020 has served that department as vice chair and director of the graduate program. Craig will take charge of a thriving and growing center on February 1, 2024 that now includes 24 Faculty Scholars from four colleges and schools and 12 departments across UC Davis.
