Nancy Galindo

As the Undergraduate Initiatives Program Coordinator, I support students to become competitive applicants to medical school through pathway initiatives and programs including Postbaccalaureate Program and the Medical School Preparatory Education Program (MSPEP). Prior to coming to Davis, I worked for City Colleges of Chicago as an Academic Advisor, primarily focusing on advising students in the healthcare and engineering fields. I have also worked with our students locally while employed by Woodland Community College at their Colusa County Outreach Facility. Both opportunities have helped me broaden my knowledge and understanding of the challenges students face. I hold a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from California State University, Chico and a master’s degree in Multicultural Education from Sacramento State University.

Why I do DEI work

As a first-gen Latina and daughter of immigrants, I have a passion to giving back to our marginalized communities. For me, that means working in a place where I can help create pathways for students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and who are underrepresented in professional careers. I am committed to paying it forward and assist students navigate the higher education system.
