The Center for the Advancement of Multicultural Perspectives on Science (CAMPOS) and the Vice Chancellor’s office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion would like to extend an enthusiastic “Congratulations!” to Dr. Cindy Rubio González for her promotion to Associate Professor effective July 1, 2020.

The undergraduate UC campuses give UCUES every two years, and it is one of the biggest UC Davis student surveys. All students 18 or older receive a survey invitation. UCUES measures many aspects of undergraduate life. 

Ambar Hernandez Negrete is a fourth-year doctoral student in the School of Education at the University of California, Davis. In pursuing her doctorate, Hernandez Negrete aims to leverage policy research as a tool to transform the educational experiences of historically marginalized students of color. For her dissertation, she is conducting a critical race policy analysis of two Ethnic Studies related policies (California Assembly Bill 2016 and Arizona House Bill 2281).

In support of the Advancing Faculty Diversity (AFD) and related programs, UCOP President Janet Napolitano, with funding from the state legislature, has provided ongoing funding to support efforts in faculty recruitment and retention and to improve academic climate. In 2019-2020, $2,750,000 was dedicated to this purpose. Every year for the last six years, all UCs compete for these monies through grants. Last year, UC Davis was awarded all of three funding requests.
