Bio

Marisa Davidson recently graduated from UC Davis in the winter of 2024. She has a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and communication.

Marisa has held a variety of internships and leadership roles on campus. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Marisa worked for the Aggie Public Health Ambassador Program. As an ambassador, she educated the UC Davis community about COVID-19, public health practices and the university’s policies. She then accepted a marketing and communications internship with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Her work supported the Healthy Davis Together Public Health Project and its social media accounts.

In 2021, Marisa transitioned to a communications internship at the Center for Leadership Learning. In the role, she created social media campaigns and marketing materials that highlighted the center’s resources and opportunities, and she represented the center at informational sessions. During this time, she also joined the College of Letters and Science Ambassador Program. She continues to work for the program as an ambassador leader.

In 2022, Marisa returned to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as a social media and communications assistant, where she works today. Her projects include social media monitoring and content creation, email marketing, website updates and data analytics. In 2023, she became the social media and strategic communications project lead, where she continues to work on communications projects and leads the internship team.

Outside of school, Marisa enjoys traveling to new places, experiencing new cultures and sampling local cuisines. She also likes to stay active by playing tennis and soccer – her two favorite sports. She is a member of the UC Davis Tennis Club and a recreational soccer team.

Why I Do DEI Work

Advancing diversity, equity and inclusion is essential in society to ensure everyone is heard, supported and represented. UC Davis strives to create an inclusive environment while celebrating differences, making the university an excellent place to find community, learn and grow. As a biracial individual, with Filipino and European ancestry, I am passionate about supporting UC Davis's efforts and fostering a campus where all are welcome and feel a sense of belonging.
