Womxn in Technology (WIT)

Members of WIT gather to share resources, promote a diverse and inclusive workspace, and to help build a collaborative community within the UC IT field. By developing a cross-campus network dedicated to growing womxn's engagement in campus IT, we endeavor to create an avenue for womxn to help shape what is possible for the future of womxn in technology.

• Mission  
• The mission of the Womxn in Technology group is to provide a supportive and safe place for womxn in technology to gather, learn, share, and strive for equity. 
• Vision
• The primary goal of the WIT group is to support the empowerment of womxn pursuing or expanding their careers in IT at UCD/UCDH.

  > Group initially forms  

  > Conduct initial meetings 

  > Host initial guest speakers 

  2019-20

  > Start to form sub committees based on special interests 

  > GEIT (Gender Equity in IT) rebrand 

  > Started ERG process at UCDH 

  > Presented at UC Tech in Santa Barbara 

  2020-21 

  > Online social meet-ups as a response to Covid-19 pandemic

  > Rebrand to WIT to align with the UCOP group 

  2021-22 

  > August Paint Night Social 

  > Networking event at Drakes The Barn in Sacramento in June 

  > virtual HR Talent Acquisition Guest Speakers event in October

   > COO Guest Speaker on her Career path in February 2023

  > Applied and awarded an official Resource Group at UCD through Conference and Event Services

  > Official campus group designation reporting into SWADAAC 
  > Change name to Womxn in Technology

• UC Womxn in Technology - The University of California Women in Technology Committee (UC WIT) is a self-chartered, independent entity that promotes a supportive, inclusive environment to advance the professional goals and aspirations of UC women in technology.
• In the Media
• "Visible Resilience" (April 17, 2024) - The UC Davis Womxn in Tech (WIT) group receives an official campus designation and becomes a subgroup of the Status of Women at Davis Administrative Advisory Committee (SWADAAC).
