La Gran Tardeada serves as a focal point for celebrating the diverse intersectional identities and experiences within the beautiful Chicanx/Latinx community.

Originating during La Raza Week, an event that commemorates and celebrates the heritage, contributions, and struggles of the Chicanx/Latinx community, La Gran Tardeada has a remarkable history spanning over 50 years. Over time, it has grown into a beloved tradition cherished by community members and eagerly anticipated each year.

Food plays a central role in La Gran Tardeada, offering a delectable array of traditional dishes and flavors. Live performances by talented musicians and dancers infuse the event with infectious rhythms, bringing people together on the dance floor.
