Navigating and Claiming our Place in Academia

A Graduate Student Conference
Hosted by Women/ Non-Binary of Color Scholars Inclusion Project (WOCSI)

Women/Non-Binary of Color Scholars Inclusion Project (WOCSI) will be hosting a UCD Graduate Student Conference: Navigating and Claiming our Place in Academia. This conference is open to graduate students, post docs, and advanced undergraduates of color. Our theme focuses on Anzaldua’s poem, “To Live in the Borderland Means” signifying the many lands and borders that we, as women / non-binary of color scholars have to negotiate and navigate (e.g. racial, ethnic, gendered, institutional powers). However, we do not have to walk this path alone. Our conference workshops cover topics such as academic publishing, preparing for the job market, community building/ collaborating relationships and many more. We hope to cultivate a space where current and future scholars navigate and claim their place in academia.  To register for the conference click here. Attached is also a list of our upcoming events. We hope to see you all in January.
