Established over 20 years ago, the Chancellor’s Achievement Awards recognize excellence in three key areas:
- Commitment to Service: Recognizing individuals who have advanced diversity and inclusion in the workplace, the educational environment, or the wider community.
- Excellence in Mentorship: Highlighting those who have enriched the professional development of others, with special emphasis on historically marginalized groups.
- Service to the Campus Community: Celebrating individuals who have played a critical role in operationalizing UC Davis’s Principles of Community, helping create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

A Significant Award
At last year’s award ceremony, Chancellor Gary S. May highlighted the significance of the honorees, stating, “The award winners we recognize today remind me of how much talent, tenacity, and commitment to diversity we find across UC Davis and our region.” He emphasized that recipients “come from a wide range of backgrounds and represent different fields,” noting that their work helps UC Davis “deepen our connections and impact across our increasingly diverse communities.” Vice Chancellor Renetta Garrison Tull also praised the awardees, remarking that their “service, scholarship, contributions, leadership, and outstanding efforts embody the Principles of Community.”
