Dr. Blas Guerrero is a highly respected and accomplished educator who brings a wealth of experience to this role. He retired from UC Davis in 2021 after a distinguished 25-year career, most notably as the Director of Strategic Diversity Recruitment and Transfer Initiatives. He served as the Dean of Admissions at Samuel Merritt University after his time at UC Davis. Dr. Guerrero is deeply committed to UC Davis and its HSI designation goals. His expertise in strategic engagement with communities of color will be invaluable as we work to strengthen our position as a leading Hispanic-Serving Institution. In his interim role, Dr. Guerrero will focus on building partnerships across campus, representing UC Davis at HSI-related events, and planning our Cesar Chavez Leadership Conference.
