DEI’s institutional research centers focus on research, retention, collaboration and community.
CAMPOS
- The Center for the Advancement of Multicultural Perspectives on Science (CAMPOS) focuses on career advancement for faculty that elevates and recognizes their research. It provides a space and place for networks of support that enable faculty to engage productively in their research, writing, grant seeking, and more. Founded in 2012, its first founding director was Mary Loud de Leon Siantz. Since 2019 it has been led by Mariel Vazquez.
CAMPSSAH
- The Center for the Advancement of Multicultural Perspectives on Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities (CAMPSSAH) focuses on career advancement that includes mentorship and leadership development. It provides a space and place for networks of support that enable faculty to engage productively in their research, writing, grant seeking, and more. Founded in 2019 by director Kimberly Nettles-Barcelón, it has been led by Zoila Mendoza since 2022.
CRHD
- Center for Reducing Health Disparities (CRHD) is a leader in health equity. Recent projects have provided multilingual COVID-19 resources and partnered with community-based organizations on providing mental health services for historically marginalized communities. They work across the state of California, in Fresno, Solano, Sonoma, Sacramento, Ventura, Alameda counties. It was established in 2005 by founding director Sergio Aguilar-Gaziola.
TRHT
- Center for Truth, Racial Healing, & Transformation (TRHT) engages communities in a dialogue to build trust in healthcare. They host racial healing circles, trainings on culturally-relevant care, and advocate for inclusive care for all people. It was founded in 2022 by Mercedes Piedra.
