A Workshop with a Feminist Research Institute Seed Grant Team

Featuring: Jeannette Money, Professor of Political Science and Sara Kazemian, Graduate Student of Political Science

This FRI seed grant team will present a theoretical framework that disaggregates the citizenship decision between the choice to emigrate, the choice to stay in the host country rather than return and the choice to naturalize. They employ data generated from 16 interviews from four different immigrant nationalities to explore how conditions of women in countries of origin condition the choices on the path to citizenship. They are interested in feedback on the plausibility of the theoretical frame.

The Seed Grant Workshop series presents the work-in-progress of FRI-funded projects. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with ongoing feminist research at UC Davis in these conversational encounters.

RSVPs appreciated.
